There are many careers events and fairs advertised and we do our own fairs with over 80 local employers taking part here at Parmiter’s. This year we are also holding a Universities Fair as a sepatate event and inviting other schools to attend.
The connection between local employers and students I believe is fundamental to ensuring the most direct and important information is given by their professionals who students can connect with, gain experience with and see as potential employers.
It was great to hear that locally St Albans City of Expertise, which is a group of professional firms in St Albans (http://cityofexpertise.com/)have a careers fair on 24th June at 5:30pm – 7:30pm. This event is aimed at students who may want to consider a career in Law, Chartered Accountancy, Banking or Chartered Surveying. At this event there will be representatives from local firms who will be able to give information of career paths and routes into these professions.
